Dr. Salinas is a respected specialist in neuropsychology and a national expert who has evaluated and treated thousands of children, teens, and adults who have brain, medical, developmental and learning disorders. Dr. Christine Salinas is one of the few bilingual Spanish/English neuropsychologists in Florida. She trained and worked in leading teaching hospitals including the nation’s #1 pediatric hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and Emory University Medical School/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Salinas co-developed the epilepsy neuropsychology program at Florida Hospital Orlando. Dr. Salinas received two years of postdoctoral training in testing and intervention with children and adults who have medical/neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions. She is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Florida Institute of Technology and University of Central Florida Medical School. She is an active brain researcher and author of 25 publications. Dr. Salinas is a national/international speaker with over 35 invited presentations around the U.S., Latin America and Spain. Professionally, she is active and holds leadership positions within the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society and American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology.

Dr. Salinas is also a mom, daughter, wife, and elite athlete who played Division I basketball. She understands that each person has his/her unique challenges, and that it is stressful when you and/or your family member experiences struggle. Your child will learn

How to handle bullying and teasing How to handle disagreements
How to join a group of children at play How to be a good host on a social “date”
How to be a good sport & show respect How to be flexible and cooperative
Conversational skills Appropriate use of social media

During each class, children learn a new skill, practice with group members, receive coaching on their play skills and are given a homework assignment along with their parent so they can try out their new skills.

Regular attendance is imperative to achieve best results. Parent participation is required.

Program participation requirements

– Is interested in attending the program
– Will participate in the program voluntarily
– Will consistently attend the program

Parents

– Must attend with child
– Must be willing to participate

This group may be appropriate for children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression or other social and behavioral disorders.  


Additional Details 

Upon signing up you will receive standardized questionnaires to complete for FREE (a $335 value).
We will then contact you to schedule your FREE 15-minute phone screen assessment and discussion with Dr. Salinas. This information will be used to determine if our program is appropriate for you and your child.
Your child will receive a post-assessment to monitor his or her progress in social skills and emotional functioning.

The program is priced at $45 per session, a 10% savings is available when purchasing all classes.

We are happy to provide you with a superbill that you may submit for insurance reimbursement for “group therapy”. Every plan is unique, we can’t guarantee your insurance company will approve reimbursement. 

Groups begin every 16 weeks. Enrollment is ongoing. Group placement is determined by Dr Salinas at phone screening appointment based on assessment results and group dynamics. Please sign up to begin the enrollment process.
